Magge polo (Madras Cucumber Dosa)

Ingredients:  Dosa Rice -2 cups

Grated Madras cucumber – 2 cupsMagge.2

Coconut – 1/2

Beaten Rice (Poha) – 1/2 cup

Salt to taste

oil for dosa tawa

Method :

Soak Rice for 2-3 hours

  1. Mix grated coconut and drained rice. Grind  without adding water. Add grated cucumber and grind again stop the mixie add soaked and drained poha to this batter grind again.The batter should be very thick not falling consistency.
  2. Keep the batter to ferment overnight or for 7-8 hours.
  3. Add salt to the batter and check the consistency, if the batter is very thick add little water.
  4. Heat dosa tawa or pan. Pour a ladle full batter on the hot pan. Its a thick dosa so Don’t spread the batter . Close the lid. Let it cook on slow flame, once it is fully cooked tiny holes can be seen through out the dosa.
  5. Serve it with coconut chutney.

Variation :Instead of Cucumber you can also use white portion of Water Melon.
