Ingredients:
- Cucumber -1/2 kg.
- Chowli (lobia ) -1 tbsp.( heaped ).
- Grated coconut -2 tbsp.
- Coriander seeds -3 tsp ( heaped ).
- cumin seeds – 1 tsp.
- Fenugreek seeds -1/2 tsp.
- Red chillies -8.
- Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp.
- Cinnamon – 1/4″ piece.
- Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp.
- Tamarind -small marble size.
- curry leaves – few.
- Jaggery -a little.
- Salt to taste.
- Oil, Mustard,Curry leaves for seasoning.
Method :
- Heat kadai add little oil fry Coriander, cumin , fenugreek seeds, cinnamon,red chillies one by one.fry coconut separately till golden brown colour add turmeric powder, hing and curry leaves .
- Grind this with little water to fine paste.
- Soak tamarind in little water and extract its juice.
- Cut cucumber into cubes (with skin ).
- Cook chowli in cooker up to one whistle switch of the gas and add cucumber pieces in same cooker and cook up to two more whistle .
- When cooked add tamarind extract, salt, jaggery and ground paste ,boil few more minutes.
- Heat oil,fry the seasoning and pour over curry.
- Serve with rice.
