Ingredients :

  • Green Tomatoes (un riped ) – 1/2 kg.
  • Curd – 1 cup.
  • Black Pepper -1 tsp (crush coarsely ).
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 tsp (dry roast and powder )
  • Turmeric powder -a pinch.
  • salt to taste.

Grind together :

  • Coconut -1/2.
  • Green chillies -2-3.
  • Cumin seeds -a pinch.

For Seasoning :

  • Coconut oil -1 tbsp.
  • Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp.
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Dry Red chilli -1 (optional ).

Method :

  • Cut Tomatoes into 4 pieces.
  • Cook with enough water,add crushed pepper and turmeric.Do not over cook Tomatoes.
  • Grind coconut , green chillies and cumin seeds into fine paste.
  • Add salt, ground paste and cook for a few more minutes.
  • Add the fenugreek powder and curd just before removing from fire.
  • Fry seasoning in coconut oil and add to the gravy.
