Ingredients :

  • Beetroot – 1 big.
  • Green gram dhal  – 1 tbsp.
  • Shallots – 3.
  • Crushed dry chillies -1 tsp.
  • Grated coconut -2 tbsp.
  • Oil – 2 tsp.
  • curry leaves  – few.
  • Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste.

Method :

  • Peel and cut into fine pieces or grate beetroot.Sprinkle little water and cook in Microwave for 5 minutes.
  • Soak dhal in water for 1/2 an hour.
  • cut or crush onion.
  • Heat oil ,add mustard seeds,curry leaves, chilli flakes and then onion and fry for a few seconds . Add drained dhal, sprinkle little water and cook for 2-3 minutes. Now add coconut , cooked beetroot and salt mix well and remove from fire.
