Tukdi ( Diamond cuts )

Ingredients:

  • Maida – 2 cups.
  • Sugar powder -2 tsp.
  • Chilli powder -4 tsp.
  • Asafoetida -1 tsp.
  • Salt – 2 tsp.
  • Ghee – 1 tbsp.
  • Water – enough to prepare dough.
  • Oil – to deep fry.

Method :

  • Mix maida , sugar, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt.
  • Heat ghee in a ladle and pour over maida , mix well and prepare soft dough using enough water.
  • Knead well and keep aside cover with wet cloth for an hour.
  • Knead well again and divide into balls.
  • Roll it out into slightly thicker chapathis.
  • Cut into diamonds or squares using samosa cutter.
  • Deep fry in oil till crisp.
