Pineapple Sasam

This is Kochi konkanis version of Pineapple Sasam, and one of the side dishes of their  festival feast.

Ingredients : 

  • Pineapple – 1 .
  • Apple -1
  • Banana  -2 ( Rasbale or kadali )
  • Seedless Grapes  – few
  • Coconut – 1/2.( Approximate 2 cups )
  • Curds – 1 cup.
  • Green chillies  -2
  • Sugar – 2 tsp.
  • Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste.

For seasoning :

  • Oil – 1 tsp.
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp.
  • Curry leaves – few.
  • Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp.

Method :

  • Grind coconut and green chillies with little water to a smooth paste add crushed mustard to the paste.
  • Peel and dice fruits into even size pieces.
  • Add sugar and salt mix well.
  • Beat curds add ground paste , fruits and mix well.
  • Season mustard, cumin seeds and curry leaves in little oil and mix with sasam.
