Pavakka ( Bitter Gourd ) Poriyal

Pavak-poriyal

Ingredients :

  • Bitter gourd – 1.
  • Onions -2 (medium size ).
  • Grated coconut – 1 tbsp.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Chilli powder -2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
  • Mustard – 1/2 tsp.
  •  oil –  1 tbsp

Method :

  • Cut bitter gourd in to thin slice.
  • Slice onion also.
  • Heat oil in kadai add mustard seeds to splutter,add onion and fry for few minutes.
  • Add chilli powder and turmeric powder,fry and stir for few minutes.
  • Add bitter gourd pieces and sprinkle little water and cook till it become tender in closed lid and slow flame.
  • Now add salt and than coconut mix well.
  • Serve with rice.
