This is a Kochi konkani recipe. Tellicherry side konkanis call it Guna .

Ingredients :
- Coconut – 1
- Ash gourd (Winter melon ) – 250 gms.
- Potato – 1.
- Colocasia/taro root( alva mande ) – 8 – 10.
- Long beans ( Chowli Pods ) – 5 -8.
- Bitter gourd – small piece.
- Bimbul ( bilimbi ) 2 – 3.
- Carrot – 1 small ( optional ).
- Green chillies – 5 – 8 .
- Salt to taste.
For Seasoning :
- Coconut oil – 1 tsp.
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp.
- Asafoetida(hing) – 1/4 tsp.
- Curry leaves – few.

Method :
- Cut vegetables into 1&1/2 inch pieces.
- Add water to the grated coconut and grind in a blender.
- Strain and squeeze to get first extract of coconut. Do this twice more to get second and third extract.
- Boil vegetable in third extract till it is cooked well.
- Add bimbul, green chillies, second extract, salt and cook again for few more minutes.
- Add first extract allow it boil and remove from fire immediately.
- Heat coconut oil add mustard,curry leaves and asafoetida.
- Pour this over curry and close with lid .

Variation:
Thambde umman: In this variation there is no coconut used and instead of green chillies, use red chilli powder. All other procedure is same.
