Ingredients :
- Thuar dhal – 1 tbsp.
- Coriander seeds – 2 tsp.
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp.
- Black pepper pods – 10.
- Red chillies – 2- 3.
- Tamarind – pebble size.
- Garlic – 3 – 5 flakes.
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
- Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp.
- Salt, Jaggery as for taste.
For seasoning :
- oil, mustard,curry leaves.
Method :
- Wash thuar dhal,add just enough water,red chillies,turmeric powder,cumin seeds,coriander seeds and pepper.
- Pressure cook till one whistle and allow to cool.
- Remove excess water from cooked dhal and grind to coarse paste in mixie.
- Add dhal water,garlic (peeled or crushed ),tamarind extract,salt,jaggery to ground paste with enough water and boil for few minutes.
- Seasoned with oil,mustard,Curry leaves and asafoetida.
- Serve hot with rice.
