Traditional side dish of keralas Onam Sadya.
Ingredients :
- Pineapple – 1.
- Ripe Banana ( Nendra ) – 1.
- Black Grapes – 10.
- Chilli powder – 3/4 tsp.
- turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
- Salt to taste.
- Jaggery -1/4 cup ( grated ).
- Curd – 1/2 cup.
For grinding :
- Grated coconut – 1 cup.
- Cumin seeds – less than 1/4 tsp.
- Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp ( crushed ).
For Seasoning :
- Coconut Oil – 1 tsp.
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp.
- Red chilli – 1-2 ( Optional ).
- Curry leaves – few.
Method :
- Peel and cut pineapple and banana into even size pieces.
- Grind coconut with cumin seeds into fine paste,add crushed mustard to the paste.
- Cook pineapple and banana in enough water with chilli powder and turmeric powder,add grapes,jaggery and salt.
- Add ground paste and cook few more minutes.Now add whipped curds,allow it to come to boil and remove from fire immediately.
- Fry seasoning in oil and add to the gravy.
