Ingredients :
- Pumpkin pieces – 2 cups ( cut into small cubes ).
- Tamarind – One gooseberry size.
- Jaggery – 2 tbsp.
- Sambar Powder – 1 tsp.
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
- Salt to taste.
For seasoning :
- Green chillies – 1-2.
- Red chilli – 1 ( Optional ).
- Oil – 1 tsp.
- Urad dhal – 1/2 tsp.
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp.
- Asafoetida – a pinch.
- Curry leaves – few .
Method :
- Add turmeric powder and enough water and cook pumpkin till soft.
- Now add tamarind juice, jaggery,salt and sambar powder and cook 2 -3 minutes.
- Fry seasoning in oil and add to the gravy.
- Serve hot with rice as a side dish.
