Ingredients :
- Red chillies – 6
- Urad dhal (dehusked black gram dhal ) -1 1/2 tbsp.
- Grated coconut – 1/4 cup.
- Garlic – 5 flakes.
- Tamarind – a little.
- Salt to taste.
- Oil as required.
For seasoning :
- Oil – 1/2 tsp.
- Curry leaves -2 springs.
- ‘Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp.
Method :
- Heat 1/2 tsp of oil in a kadai.Add red chillies,urad dhal and roast until dhal turns golden.
- Add garlic,coconut,at the end and fry until coconut turns to a pink colour.
- Allow to cool and grind coarsely with salt and tamarind.
- Heat 1/2 tsp oil,season mustard seeds and curry leaves in that oil and add to the chutney.
- Serve with any dosa or Idly.
