Ingredients :
- Magge ( Madras Cucumber ) – 250 gms.
- Tender cashew nuts -10 -15.
- Tendle (gherkins) – 10 -12.
- Drum stick -1.
- Tuvar dal – 1/4 cup.
- Grated coconut – 2 cups.
- Red Chillies – 4-5 (fried in little oil ).
- Tamarind – one chana size.
- Salt to taste.
For Seasoning :
- Oil – 2 tsp.
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp.
- Curry leaves – a few.
Method :
- Grind coconut, red chillies and tamarind with enough water to a smooth paste.
- Pressure cook dal.
- Peel and cut cucumber, cut tendle and drumstick.
- Cook all other vegetables and cashew nuts in another vessel, except the drum stick.
- When other vegetables are almost cooked add drum stick,if you add drum stick with other vegetables it will over cook.
- Now add salt and ground paste, boil for a few more minutes and switch of the heat
- Season it with mustard and curry leaves splattered in oil.
- Serve hot with rice as side dish.
