Panasa Muddo Sagavane Pannari ( Jackfruit dumpling steamed in tender teak leaves )

Ingredients :

  • Raw Rice – 1 cup.
  • Boiled Rice – 1 cup.
  • Grated coconut – 2 cups.
  • Jack fruit chopped – 3- 4 cups.
  • Jaggery powder  – 1 – 1 1/2  cups.
  • Salt  – 1 tsp.
  • Teak leaves  – 10 -12 ( use tender ones, only then will you get the red colour).

Method :

  • Soak rice for 2 hours.
  • Drain the water completely.
  • Grind with jack fruit and grated coconut using very little water.
  • Add jaggery and salt, grind again for a minute.
  • Clean and wipe the leaves .
  • Spread batter on it and fold.

  • Steam in a Steamer for 30 – 45 minutes.

  • Serve with Butter, Ghee or Honey
