Jackfruit seeds

Jackfruit is the largest tree fruit in the world . Recent news shows numerous benefits of the fruits . It is packed with protein and lots of nutrients like vitamin B , Potassium etc . But did you knows that the seeds of this fruit are healthy too ?

       The seeds are rich in thiamin  and riboflavin , which help in the food which we eat turn into energy and keep our eyes , skin & hair healthy . The seeds are used in traditional medicine to help with digestive tract problems due to its anti – microbial properties . The various micro nutrients present help in managing mental stress and skin diseases . The seeds are a great source of Iron , which help in preventing anemia and other blood disorders . The seeds are protein enriched which helps to build the  muscles .

In our household , we use jackfruit seeds for various preparations . It is used to additive to various gravies like koddle , hummans and stir fries . It used to be boiled and sun dried for 2 – 3 days and stored in jars . During rains we used to eat as munchies . The boiled seeds was also deep fried and sprinkled with salt and chilli powder and served as snack too .
