Idiyan Chakka Thoran ( Tender Jack fruit Stir fry )

Tender-Jack

Ingredients –

  • Tender jack fruit -a small.
  • Grated coconut – 2 cups.
  • Green chillies – 4 – 5.
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp.
  •  Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
  • Garlic – 4 – 5 flakes.
  • Salt to taste.

For seasoning :  

  • Coconut oil – 2 tsp.
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp’
  • Urad dal – 1 tsp.

Method :

  • Remove the thick outer skin of the tender jack and cut into pieces.
  • Cook this pieces with turmeric and chilli powder.
  • Once cool remove and pound the pieces with pestle or use the back of wooden spoon or masher to get some shredded jack fruit.
  • Ground grated coconut with green chillies and garlic into coarsely paste.
  • Heat oil in kadai add mustard seeds, once they splutter add urad dal,curry leaves.
  • Now add shredded jack fruit, ground masala and salt fry for few mnts in medium flame.
  • Serve hot with rice.
